CT Grand Lodge - Sons of Italy Foundation
The charities "adopted" by the National Order
Sons of Italy in America have also been adopted
by the Connecticut Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF).
SIF is the philanthropic arm of OSIA.
Not only do we give generously to the
organizations listed below, we also give to
scholarships, medical research, disaster relief,
and other organizations.

Alzheimer's Association
• The Alzheimer's Association is the largest
national voluntary health organization
committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer's
disease and helping those affected directly
and indirectly by the disease.
• The SIF has contributed more than a half
million dollars to the Alzheimer's
Association to date.
Cooley's Anemia Foundation
• The Cooley's Anemia Foundation (CAF)
serves people affected by the fatal genetic
blood disease thalassemia, Cooley's anemia,
often found in people of Mediterranean
descent. Its mission is to advance
treatment, enhance the quality of life of
patients and educate the medical profession,
trait carriers and the public about the
disease.
• The SIF has contributed $2 million to the
CAF to date.
Coaches for Cancer
- Coaches for Cancer was
started by University of Connecticut Basketball Coaches Jim
Calhoun and Geno Auriemma.
- All monies donated go to
cancer research
